Well, as some of you know I struggle with depression, and I have since I was sixteen. I am extremely open about it as well as an advocate for mental health awareness. I think it is important to be open with yourself and the emotions you feel. Now there is not an exact science to being depressed, but let me tell you there is a lot of target runs and online shopping involved. It's okay to make fun of it! I am depressed, but I am also a 21 year- old woman and my coping mechanisms are not what one would call necessarily healthy. However, I will share some of the things I do when I can barely get dressed. Sometimes I go in the bathroom and listen to music. It is so healing and shaking your booty to some lizzo isn't going to hurt anyone! My top favorite songs right now are: Good Days by Sza, Call me Queen by Citizen Queen, Drivers License by Olivia Rodrigo, every single Ariana Grande song, and Forever by Chris Brown. (Problematic choice I know) I guess I should try to be motivating here, but when you feel overwhelmed or panicked, take a second and feel your feelings. Feel the hurt. Feel the tears. Feel the pain, put your phone away, turn on some music, and cry your little heart out.. it's okay.
